The Trumpeter is a study of 1950’s American jazz trumpeter Clifford Brown. A considerable influence on later jazz trumpeters such as Freddie Hubbard and Booker Little, Brown was best known for enunciating each note. The work won the Award of Recognition (Three Dimensional) in the 15th Annual Juried Competition Exhibition of the American Women Artists held in Tubac, Arizona in November 2012.
