Labrador and Pup
Bronze, 2000
Dimensions: 30" H x 72" W x 24" D
Limited Edition of 20
These playful yellow labs represent one of this country’s most popular pets and are a favorite of the artist. A hunting dog originating in Newfoundland, the Labrador Retriever was largely developed in England and is characterized by a broad head and chest. The short, dense coat is portrayed in this bronze by a shallow thumb print pattern for a more original and gestural approach. Labrador and Pup was awarded Honorable Mention in the 16th International Exhibition on Animals in Art held at Louisiana State University in 2003.
