Carmen Louis “Carm” Cozza (1930-)

Bronze

Carm Cozza was the Head Coach at Yale University, coaching the Bulldogs for 32 years from 1965 to 1996 and winning ten Ivy League championships. A former American football and baseball player, Cozza played quarterback for Miami University of Oxford, Ohio under coaches Woody Hayes and Ara Parseghian. He was Assistant Coach under John Pont at Miami University from 1956 to 1962 and succeeded Pont for the coaching position at Yale in 1965. Carm Cozza was named UPI New England Coach of the Year four times and Eastern Coach of the Year. He is depicted here in a pensive position steadily watching the game while crouching on the sidelines. His facial expression belies the tension evident by his hands.
